A Message from President Tetlow
August 31, 2020
Dear Loyola Graduate,
Ideally we would have received your commencement regalia in time to ship it to you before our May 9th virtual ceremony, but nothing has been ideal about this year. Instead, you made up for it with creative private celebrations we loved watching on social media.Your regalia has finally arrived, and as promised, we’re emailing today so you can inform us of your plans and preferences. Just a few weeks ago, many of you came to pick up your regalia in person and participate in a marathon of 26 separate mini-ceremonies. We never thought that these brief events, with a quick speech, a prayer and the chance to take a picture, would mean so much. But this year has been all about finding meaning in new places.
We hope that many of you will march in Commencement 2021. We’ll hold our breath that circumstances have changed by then and we can celebrate in style. And we’re putting aside the rest of the commencement budget for just that -- to have a separate round of events worthy of the Class of 2020. But whatever fate and the future bring, know that you are forever bound together with each other and with graduates all over the world.
We told you that we would circle back and ask you whether you would like us to mail your regalia to you, and now we need to get the right address to do so. If you could fill out just one more form linked here, you can let us know where to ship your regalia, whether you’re nearby and want to pick it up at the bookstore, whether you want to leave it here until next May, or whether you’ve just moved on and want to donate it.
If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at alumni@loyno.edu.
Sending you all our best wishes for a bright and better future,
Tania Tetlow
President
