Class of 2020
We congratulate you on your hard work, achievements, and resilience. You came to Loyola from all over the country and all over the world. You came together representing many states, regions, races, and religions—and you clearly have learned as much from each other as you have learned from us.
Now—as promised that long year ago—we invite you, honored alumni, back to campus to celebrate your achievement.
Due to the ever-evolving COVID capacity limits set by both the State of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans, participation by 2020 graduates in 2021 events is not possible.
So, the weekend of Friday, May 21, and Saturday, May 22, has been reserved specifically for the Class of 2020.
During the course of those two days, we look forward to seeing you in your regalia snapping pictures with the Loyola letters, sharing memories with classmates (socially-distanced, of course), and participating in a special Mass that includes a reimagined commencement component. This is where you will hear your name called and take a photo with President Tetlow and—if you bring it along—your actual, hard-earned diploma!
The registration form for rescheduled Class of 2020 commencement ceremonies is now closed. If you still wish to sign up or need additional assistance, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those who registered, we will follow up with a confirmation and logistical information by April 23. In the meantime, keep an eye out for more special news and announcements from the Office of Alumni Engagement.

Please indicate the status of your regalia when you complete the sign up form and and we will reply to you accordingly.
Guests and Special Accommodations
Each graduate is able to invite four guests. Ultimately this could change due to the ever-evolving COVID capacity requirements set forth by the State of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans. If guest limits change, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Please let us know, via email to email@example.com, if you or your guest(s) require special accommodations and we will do our best to assist you.
Last February, before the world turned upside down, we invited graduating students to leave a tangible legacy for future members of the Wolf Pack by participating in the Class of 2020 Grad Gift campaign. The class voted to direct funds from the campaign to Iggy’s Cupboard, with the goal of raising $800 to purchase an upright freezer.
We closed the campaign early when the difficult decision to shift to virtual learning meant that the Spring 2020 semester on campus would be cut short and plans for commencement remained uncertain.
If you’re able, we invite you to consider making a gift to Iggy’s Cupboard or any area of campus that holds a special meaning for you—perhaps your college or program; a student organization; the Student Success Center; or a specific initiative such as First in the PACK, the Loyola Center for Counseling and Education, or the Student Hardship Fund.
The 2020 Grad Gift giving page remains open, but as of April 14, we can no longer accommodate honoree names in the commencement program. Donors who give $20.20 or more are still eligible to receive a tiny Iggy charm.
